April into May was a whirlwind—three countries, three distinct audiences, and one clear objective: to represent Malta and strengthen our global network through the work we do at ReaLux International and Prime International.
🇨🇳 Chengdu – Speaking at the 9th Chengdu China Western Hotel Industry Development Summit
I had the honour of being invited to speak at the 9th Chengdu China Hotel Forum—an event that brought together over 1,000 general managers, developers, and CEOs from the hospitality and service industries.
It was a privilege to share the stage with Deputy Head of Mission Kimberly Zammit from the Maltese Embassy in China, with both of us invited by the organisers to represent Malta at this prestigious event.
My presentation focused on Malta’s growing profile as a destination for investment, hospitality development, and relocation—a message that resonated strongly with an audience eager to explore outbound opportunities. From strategic positioning to tax-efficient structures and real estate pathways, Malta continues to attract serious attention across the Chinese market.
🇦🇪 Dubai – Strengthening Partnerships Across the Gulf
Shortly after, I travelled to Dubai with Prasad Koswattage, our Head of Marketing and my co-franchise owner at Prime International, where we spent five days on the ground engaging with clients, partners, and regional stakeholders.
One of the highlights was attending the Investment Migration Council brunch, but the trip was much more than that. We held a series of in-depth meetings, reinforcing our commitment to supporting clients in the Gulf who are exploring Malta for its Residency by Investment programme (MPRP), tax residency routes, business relocation options, and prime real estate investments.
We secured reservations for multiple units while in Dubai, reflecting the high level of confidence clients have in our team and the continued appetite for Malta’s premium property market.
🇨🇳 Shanghai – Expanding Our Reach and Delivering Results
To round out the month, I travelled to Shanghai with Jenny Yang, our real estate specialist at Prime International, where we spent several days in meaningful dialogue with clients and strategic partners.
Our time in Shanghai went beyond sales—it was about deepening our commitment to the market. We explored ways to strengthen our presence in China, laying the groundwork for long-term engagement. And just like in Dubai, several clients we met went on to reserve luxury real estate in Malta, reaffirming both the strength of the offering and the trust we’ve built with our clients across regions.

Across all three trips, one key takeaway stood out:
There is a growing appetite—particularly among Chinese brands and hotel companies—to establish a base within Europe. Malta is increasingly being seen as a strategic gateway into the EU, offering a tax-friendly environment, stable governance, and unmatched access to the European market.
At ReaLux International and Prime International, we’re proud to help clients turn that ambition into reality—with clarity, reliability, and deep market understanding.
📩 If you’re exploring relocation, investment, or business development in Malta, I’d be happy to connect.
